My physical injuries were: back, neck, hips, shoulders and knee. I was walking with a cane and had a fear of driving, but through it all God has sustained me. I was prescribed many different types of medications and therapies, but nothing seemed to help. I isolated myself from my family and friends and was unable to find delight in the things I once enjoyed. I slipped further and deeper into depression and had suicidal thoughts on a number of occasions. I had many sleepless nights and anxious days. I was forced to retire from my job with the Ontario government after 25 years of service. I had seen over 16 specialist and doctors combined, but I had forgotten the great specialist of all specialists, and the greatest doctor of all doctors, the man Christ Jesus. As the thought of suicide came into my thoughts I cried out to God for help and then I heard that still small voice saying, “Do not worry I have a plan for you” (Jeremiah 29:11). God had spared my life and once again delivered me. I praised and thanked Him as I recited Philippians 4:6 “Be anxious for nothing but with prayer and supplications with thanksgiving make your request be known unto God" and 2 Timothy 1:17 “For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Each day I give God thanks and praise for the marvellous things he has done and is still doing in my life. I even started my gratitude journal two (2) years ago documenting the things I am grateful to God for. My family and friends were constantly praying for me and encouraging me. Once I realized the goodness of God, and that he spare my life for a purpose. I started to give Him thanks and praise through the good and the bad days. The devil was defeated at the cross and no weapons formed against me shall prosper, because I am more than a CONQUEROR. God is my refuge and my strength. He is my beginning and my end. He knows my future. I was now motivated to change the way I think and became more God focus rather than problems and physical focus. God set the stage for my road to recovery. I started a cleanse of my body to remove the toxins. I started to follow the 8 principles of health: 1. Godly Trust, 2. Proper Nutrition, 3. Exercise, 4. Fresh air, 5. Sunshine, 6. Water, 7. Rest and 8 Temperance. I noticed I began to enjoy life again. My health started to improve, I was less anxious and my pain had been reduced significantly. My diabetes went into reversal and my other ailments are consistently improving. I am no longer walking with a cane. After not driving for 5 years I’m back behind the wheels. I always have God on my mind while I’m driving. I’m no longer isolating myself from my family, I am going to church more often and I give bible studies on a regular basis. My prayer is that as you watch the video above and read my testimony, may you trust God and give Him thanks no matter the situation you find yourself in. Trust God and He will direct your path. Remember GOD IS ALWAYS IN CONTROL. Just let go and let God. by Fitzroy Bailey Member of Ajax SDA Church Comments are closed.
